Due to the rising numbers of Covid-related illnesses, we have seen student absences rise as well as a shortage of available teachers and staff. After careful consideration, we have decided to implement Alternative Means of Instruction (AMI) days for Thursday, January 13th and Friday, January 14th of this week. All Lincoln instructional campuses will be closed to on-campus instruction. These days will count as regular school days and will not require students to make them up at the end of the year.
Per our school calendar for the 2021-2022 year, we were already scheduled to be off on Monday, January 17th, in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day. Between the 2 AMI days, the 2 day weekend and our 1 built-in holiday, we will have 5 days to help slow the spread of Covid within our district and give us time to clean and disinfect our facilities.
Our teachers have been preparing the students for these AMI days and packets with further instructions will be sent home with your students. Teachers will be available by email during regular school hours on Thursday and Friday for questions about their remote instruction.
ALL extra-curricular events have been postponed over the next 5 days. Look to the district website or social media for updates on rescheduling etc.
